[Proposal] Cosmic Council Program Rewards for Q1 of 2026 (Updated Scope & Funding Adjustment)

Overview

This proposal seeks to secure funding from the SPACE ID DAO treasury for the SPACE ID Cosmic Council (contributor program) Rewards for Q1 of 2026 (Jan – Mar).

Taking current market factors and overall operating considerations into account, we have sized down the contributor program to focus on efficiency and impact. The program currently consists of 4 active contributors. Accordingly, we are also adjusting the contributor program funds to match the updated program size and scope.

This program plans to reward those contributing to SPACE ID, collectively known as the Cosmic Council, reflecting their individual contribution efforts.

Purpose

The rewards program is crucial in keeping our Cosmic Council an active, motivated, and high-performing program. It’s designed to encourage more contributions, get the community involved, and attract new talent, which are all vital for the growth and success of SPACE ID.

Scope

This funding proposal includes rewards for all contributors at various levels, such as Cosmic Astras, Space Novas & Auroras, based on their individual performance and contributions to SPACE ID.

Implementation

The rewards will be given based on a points system related to their contributions, reviewed and evaluated by SPACE ID core team.

The reward distribution will occur monthly. This process will rely on the points system and an evaluation of contributions for the previous month.

Timeline

This proposal covers the Cosmic Council rewards for Q1 of 2026 (Jan – Mar 2026). The rewards for qualified contributors will be distributed monthly, at the start of each month, for the previous month’s contributions.

Budget

The requested budget is $3,000 to run the contributor program for Q1 of 2026, calculated based on the current program size of 4 active contributors and the updated funding structure.

  • Monthly budget: $1,000

  • Quarter total (Q1 2026): $3,000

Expected Outcomes

Reinforced Contributor Incentives: Through consistent evaluation by the core team and the points-based system, contributors are assured of sufficient rewards, increasing their engagement and loyalty.

Social Media Presence: We anticipate an increased presence of SPACE ID on social platforms. Contributors will continue sharing all latest SPACE ID news and updates, leading to regular mentions, discussions, and new users.

Broadened Integration Partner Ecosystem: The contributor program brings focus on potential new integration and grant integration partners for SPACE ID.

As an active participant in the cosmic council contributor program, I certainly support this proposal.

Something is better than nothing.

For my part, I will try to maintain the level of activity at least as high as possible.

Reducing the Cosmic Council to 4 core contributors with a $3k quarterly budget feels overly conservative - it might sustain the existing core but won’t attract fresh talent or scale impact. The point-based reward system is transparent in theory, but without published scoring criteria, subjectivity could undermine trust. In a competitive ecosystem, underfunding community growth now may cost more in re-engagement later. Still, adapting scope to market conditions is pragmatic if paired with clear success metrics.
